“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”  Proverbs 2:1-5

Promiseland is our children’s ministry program where children from age three (3) to Grade 5 learn about God’s truth!  We strive to provide a safe environment for your children where they will be cared for by wonderful volunteer teachers and enthusiastic parent helpers. The children will be reading God’s word, hearing stories about people of the Bible and learning about how they can follow Jesus and one day, live with him forever in heaven!

After our first worship time, children come to Promiseland.  We offer the following classes:

Nursery: A staffed nursery is available for newborns up to age three.  Our nursery is provided from the beginning to the end of the service.

Preschool: Our Preschool class includes children aged three, four and five year olds not yet in Kindergarten.  We currently use the Hands-On Bible curriculum as the teaching material for this class.   

Kindergarten to  Grade 5:

Large Group Session: After being dismissed from the service, our Kindergarten to Grade Five children meet for a large group session prior to going to their small-group classes.  During this time, we sing praise songs to God, collect our offering money for the Ministry of Mercy orphanage in Nigeria, and highlight children’s birthdays.

Starting January 2010, we will be learning the books of the Bible through memorization and a large wall Bible bookcase!  We will also learn key words that will remind us of the name of the book and gwe will gain  a basic idea of what each book is about.

Small Group Classes: After the large group session, children are dismissed to their small group classes.  Over the course of the year, we try to implement a number of different curriculums to add variety to the Sunday morning programs.  The Hands-On Bible curriculum will be used as the main teaching material throughout the year, with the following special programs being offered:

Flipt - Life by Jesus (April 2010):  A 10-week program where we will study the life of Peter.  Children will learn they can choose to live their way or they can get flipt by Jesus and live HIs way - 'cause it's the best way.
